Giving

Make an Impact

The tithes and donations you make to Trinity United Church of Christ make a difference to our church, our community, and the people of Bethlehem. There are various ways you can donate. We pass a collection plate during services and electronic giving is available for 24/7 donations. “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops” (Proverbs 3:9).

Rev. Dennis Schappell

Rev. Dennis Schappell was called to serve at Trinity UCC in December 2018. One of his strengths is his broad worldview (and his humorous life stories), which have been shaped by his 13 years of ministry, a 33 year career in advertising, and life experiences.

“One of the things I’m passionate about is helping people discover their God given gifts. I suppose this comes from my own experience of volunteering for many years and doing the same things over and over again. I never considered that God had blessed me with any other gifts to share. Fortunately, an open and inviting church changed all that. And it can help you find your strengths and gifts too. Getting involved in your community will help you realize your God given gifts and help develop your full potential. It will help you see where God has been and where God is leading you. And along the way, you’ll find joy, peace, and love. My hope for you is that you discover your God given gifts that bring you great joy. It is my mission in ministry to help you in your journey.”

Pastor Den has been serving churches in eastern Pennsylvania for the past 13 years. He has been active with community service ministries and projects in each of the church community he has served. He holds a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary. And, he holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Communication Design from Kutztown University.

Embracing & Extending the Teachings of Our Lord

Trinity United Church of Christ has the honor of connecting people to God, Jesus Christ, and to one another in a loving and caring setting. It is our mission to empower our community to become disciples of God by learning the gospels and practicing his word.

The word “church” originates from the word “gathering” or “to gather”. This is why we so strongly cling to the notion that the church is not a building or a structure, but rather, the church is actually the believers themselves. We aim to maintain and foster a comfortable environment for our congregation to gather, build relationships, demonstrate love and share their knowledge. We believe that the Lord Almighty rewards those who take time out of each day to show their gratitude through prayer and spirituality.
